Staff

"Employees are a company's greatest asset"
Administration Staff

Administration staff are employed and paid by Maryborough GymSports to work in the office. You'll most likely see them during office hours. They are in charge of the administration side of the club.

Our administrator will be happy to help you find out more information, enrol you in classes, take your bookings for trials or holiday clinics, order in club attire, or even fill up your water bottle.

Our current club administrator, Debbie, has 30 years' experience at the club in Maryborough and is loaded with information about gymnastics, past and present. Should you need to contact administration, see the contact us page.

Coaching Staff
Accredited Coaches Work Here!

Maryborough GymSports Inc. only employes accredited coaches professionals in accordance with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics Queensland requirements. Coaches are paid staff members.

Our coaches are required to hold a minimum of:

  • Annual technical membership with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics QLD

  • Intermediate accreditation in their certified disciplines (or be working towards one)

  • Current working with children check (Blue card)

  • Ideally they have first aid and CPR training

You will find many of our staff have other degrees and experience in complementary careers including medicine and education fields, thus providing our members with a high level of professionalism!

Trainee Coaches

At times we have coaches learning on the job and working towards attaining their intermediate accreditation. These coaches will be learning the role of a coach and how to plan, teach and modify lessons to suit the level and age of participants. A trainee coach works under the supervision of a qualified Coach Supervisor (or Club Coach Educator).

Australian gymnastics coaches annually update to maintain their accreditation, thus making them among the most active learners in the entire sporting community industry!

To retain their annual accreditation (technical membership), coaches must engage in mandatory professional development. This is done through methods such as certified courses, workshops (online or face to face) and/ or competition attendance. This ensures gymnastics coaches stay up to date with the latest technique and information, contributing to gymnastics being one of the safest sports in the nation (based on injuries from sport as per Australian Bureau of Statistics).

If you are interested in coaching at MGS, we're eager to hear from you.
