About the Special Needs Gymnastics Program in Maryborough
Apparatus
We use a series of equipment suitable for the athlete's ability. This can include large apparatus like trampolines, rings, bars and beam to small equipment like hoop and ball.

Program
​Gym Ability caters for participants who have special needs. It is open to persons with a range of physical and cognitive abilities.
​
The Gym Ability focuses on what the participants can do, rather than what they can't.
Elements of fitness, friendship, fundamentals and fun to promote lifelong movement are incorporated into the program.

Considerations​

Do you need a quieter session? Saturday mornings are the suggested time.

At this stage private lessons cannot be arranged.

Care workers / parents may be required to assist the participant.

Please note that due to the age of our venue it isn't wheelchair friendly at this time.

Special Olympics Young Athletes is an early childhood play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities, ages 2 to 8 years old. Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers, and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking, and throwing.
