Where to start
Gym Mix is the entry point for children just starting out on their gymnastics pathway. Once they've completed their training here, they can specialise in a gym sport in our Foundational Programs of Trampoline, Tumbling, Acrobatics, Rhythmic, Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics.
If you are transferring from another club, please show proof of levels passed or contact us to arrange an assessment so we can slot the child into a class appropriate for their skill level.

Age requirement for Foundational Programs
-
Foundational participants must have turned 6 to be eligible to enrol in one of these programs.
-
There is no maximum age to be in a level's program at MGS.
-
It is recommended that beginner teenagers over 14 commence in the recreational teens program whereas adults just starting out or returning to the sport will be directed to the adult class.
Levels
What's on offer is based upon the club's current coach accreditations and club member's level.
Levels Structure
Each gymnastics code in Australia has 10 levels. The routine requirements are set by the governing body - Gymnastics Australia. As gymnasts climb through the levels, the skill and routine requirements become more difficult, this requiring multiple hours of training a week for safety and progression.

Progression
The gymnast progresses through the levels program according to their ability - not age. Read more on the assessment and competition page.
