Dress Code

Adhering to the dress code is important for safety, hygiene and presentation requirements. For more specific information to your class, please read the general and  specific class attire information below. Also ensure you read the hair and attire restrictions pages.

At Maryborough Gymsports the club colours are red, black and gold. 
General Rules
General rules for all participants

​

  • All jewelry  is to be removed prior to class (any piercings, bracelets, watches, bands, anklets, rings etc).

  • Underwear needs to be worn under all clothing, including leotards (underwear should be the same colour as leotard).

  • If glasses are to be worn, a head strap is highly recommended.   

  • Clean socks are required for trampolines

  • A sweat towel may be required in the warmer months to prevent slips/for hygiene reasons

  • Abide by the hair regulations 

Non Members / Trials

A towel for sweat is advisable in the warmer months to allow the gymnasts

to towel of to prevent the occurrence of slipping.

Competitive Dress Code

The club will advise you of the full competition dress code for the event you’re attending, however see the below for a general guideline.
 

Females

Levels 1 - 3 : WAG, Trampoline, Acrobatics  - Club Leotard
WAG and Trampoline levels 4+ : Competitive mid-level leotard
Masters – Optional or club leotard with black leggings or bike pants

*Bra straps and knickers are not to be seen*

 

Males

Level 1 – 2 : MAG : Club Black Singlet and Black shorts
Level 1+ Trampoline : = Club Leotard
Level 3+ : MAG : = Club Leotard
Level 4 +Trampoline / MAG Level 3+ = Club longs whites

Masters – club singlet and black pants or leotard and black pants/long whites

Trampolinists

White ankle socks (no logos – must be washed and clean)

 

Acrobatics Teams

Leotard as advised of

Club white polo shirt

Club jacket (Red & White) and black track pants

Appropriate footwear – joggers/DMT shoes and socks

Underwear must be worn and is required to be black and a cut that doesn’t stick out
If a support brace or spotting tape needs to be worn – it is to be skin coloured
No jewellery or piercings as per general club rules

 

Hairstyles

Hair is to be the highest standard and should be in alignment with general hair restrictions.
Club coloured hair accessories are encouraged e.g. clips, scrunchies and ribbons.

 

Failure to comply with competitive dress code standards is likely to result in deductions from judges or being removed from the competition.

​

Spectators and parents are welcome to purchase and wear a club shirt or club colours too.
